Birgitte is a senior advisor in gambling regulation and was most recently head of the Danish Gambling Authority. She has over 25 years’ experience in government leadership positions, encompassing restructuring, legal change and digital transformation. Leading the DGA, Birgitte was responsible for the successful construction and consolidation of a liberalized gambling licensing regime covering betting, online casino, land-based casinos, lotteries and gaming machines. Birgitte comes with international experiences from tireless international cooperation and sharing of knowledge. Patron of IAGR and awarded “European Regulator of the Year” by IMGL. Birgitte is a strong supporter of a dialogue-based relationship between regulators and the gambling industry.
